🧩 Problem Statement :

Air France needed a digital platform to support its annual evaluation process — one that could handle input from managers, supervisors, and employees in a fair and transparent way. The existing process was manual, time-consuming, and inconsistent across teams, making it difficult for HR to track progress and ensure all evaluations were completed on time.

Summary of the old experience:

The previous process was fragmented, manual, and time-intensive — creating delays, inconsistent data, and low engagement in the annual evaluation cycle.

Goals

  • Create a simple, clear platform for managing yearly evaluations

  • Encourage peer-to-peer, manager, and self-evaluations without friction

  • Help HR monitor progress and identify areas for growth within teams

  • Build trust and accountability across all levels

The Design Process

We were tight on the deadline due to our Product Owner’s limited availability and the large volume of feedback during the iteration stage.

Design Decision

After analyzing the user flows, we broke them down into clear steps and made informed decisions to address gaps and optimize transitions. Our goal was to identify the best opportunities to apply user-friendly practices, ensuring that the platform could be used easily and that evaluations could be completed quickly, without unnecessary effort.

Reflections

Designing Time to Meet highlighted the importance of balancing business requirements with user simplicity — especially in a process as sensitive as annual evaluations. Our team had to navigate feedback from multiple stakeholders while ensuring the platform stayed intuitive and supportive for both HR teams and employees.

One key learning was the value of breaking complex flows into clear, manageable steps. By focusing on transparency, usability, and speed, we created a tool that helps foster a positive work environment and reduces the administrative burden on managers and HR. The experience also reinforced the importance of early alignment between design, product, and business teams to minimize delays during iterations.0
